Abstract:
This reformer (1) is constituted by stacking reforming layers (2) that use a reforming catalyst (5) to reform a fuel that is being reformed and heating layers (3) that heat the reforming layers (2) by a heat generating reaction using a combustion catalyst (8). A mixed gas, in which a gas that is combusted and a support gas are mixed, is supplied to heating pathways (25) of the heating layers (3). The heating pathways (25) are divided into a plurality of divided pathways (31a - 31c) by dividing walls (11, 13) parallel to wall surfaces on which the combustion catalyst (8) has been applied, and each of the plurality of divided pathways (31a - 31c) discharges the mixed gas at a different position of the combustion catalyst (8).
