Abstract:
An air conditioner includes: a plurality of use-side units each having a first refrigerant circuit; a heat-source-side unit having a second refrigerant circuit; a communication pipe group; and a relay unit. The communication pipe group couples the first refrigerant circuits and the second refrigerant circuit. The relay unit blocks refrigerant flowing through the communication pipe group. A first use-side unit group is a group of two use-side units. The relay unit blocks refrigerant flow between the first refrigerant circuits of the first use-side unit group and the second refrigerant circuit. A first communication pipe group couples between the first refrigerant circuits of the first use-side unit group and the relay unit. The relay unit is disposed so that a first refrigerant amount is less than an allowable refrigerant leakage amount in a space where the use-side units of the first use-side unit group are installed. The first refrigerant amount is the sum of a refrigerant amount present in the first refrigerant circuits of the first use-side unit group and a refrigerant amount present in the first communication pipe group.
