Abstract:
A refrigeration cycle apparatus comprises: a compressor (6), an indoor heat exchanger (16), an expansion valve (12), and an outdoor heat exchanger (14) which are connected by refrigerant tubes; and a thermal storage device (50) which includes a thermal storage medium (36) for storing heat generated by the compressor (6) and a thermal storage heat exchanger (34) for performing heat exchange between the heat stored in the thermal storage medium (36) and a refrigerant, wherein the thermal storage device (50) is provided with an auxiliary heating device (52) which uses electricity to further heat the thermal storage medium (36) so that a defrosting operation for the outdoor heat exchanger can be reliably performed.
