Abstract:
This refrigeration cycle apparatus is provided with an accumulator (24) that accumulates one refrigerant, which branches off at a downstream branch section (13d) and flows out from an indoor evaporator (20) that evaporates the refrigerant to cool indoor air, and another refrigerant, which branches off at the downstream branch section (13d) and flows out from an auxiliary heat exchanger (22) that evaporates the refrigerant to cool air for a battery, thereby absorbing variations in the required amount of refrigerant. Among inflow-side piping (23), which connects the downstream branch section (13d) and the auxiliary heat exchanger (22), a battery expansion valve (21) with the ability to fully close is disposed at a position closer to an inlet side of the auxiliary heat exchanger (22) than the downstream branch section (13d). Thus, when the refrigerant flow path is switched by fully closing the battery expansion valve (21), excess refrigerant can accumulate inside the inflow-side piping (23) between the downstream branch section (13d) and the auxiliary heat exchanger (22), and an increase in the size of the accumulator can be restrained.
