This refrigeration cycle device is provided with: a refrigerant circuit obtained by connecting a compressor, a condenser, a depressurization device, and an evaporator via a refrigerant piping; and a control device for acquiring a required frequency of the compressor, and controlling a command frequency of the compressor in accordance with the acquired required frequency. The control device: determines whether the required frequency falls under a preset prohibited frequency domain; if determining that the required frequency falls under the prohibited frequency domain, then takes, as the command frequency, either a first frequency that is below the lower limit value of the prohibited frequency domain, or a second frequency that is above the upper limit value of the prohibited frequency domain; initiates a preset control period; repeatedly calculates a first duration and a second duration in the control period, the first duration taking the first frequency as the command frequency and the second duration taking the second frequency as the command frequency, such calculation being on the basis of the acquired required frequency during the control period; and switches the command frequency from one to the other when the first duration or the second duration corresponding to either the first frequency or the second frequency has elapsed since the control period started.
