The present invention provides a refrigerator. The refrigerator (2) comprises: an automatic ice maker (40) having an assembly (10) comprising a water-containing ice cube tray (12); a cooling part (50) having an air outlet (8) and a compressor (52), wherein the air outlet supplies cold air above the assembly (10) comprising the water-containing ice cube tray (12), and the compressor is used for generating the cold air; a temperature sensor (60) provided below the assembly (10) comprising the water-containing ice cube tray (12); and a control part for performing the following control: when the detected value of the temperature sensor (60) reaches the upper limit, starting the operation of the compressor (52), when the detected value of the temperature sensor (60) reaches the lower limit, stopping the compressor (52) in operation, and when the control part determines that the assembly (10) comprising the water-containing ice cube tray (12) is not in the refrigerator, changing the value of the lower limit to a special set value less than a normal set value. The refrigerator of the present invention can achieve proper temperature control in the freezing chamber even if the assembly comprising the water-containing ice cube tray of the automatic ice maker is removed.
