Abstract:
A refrigerator which can improve an ice making speed in a situation of low storage room temperature comprises: a body having at least one storage room; a temperature sensor provided inside the body; an ice making device including an ice making tray provided inside the at least one storage room, a heating device for heating water stored in the ice making tray, and an ice separation device for separating ice accommodated in the ice making tray from the ice making tray; a cooling device for cooling the at least one storage room; a water supply device for supplying water to the ice making tray; and a control unit for controlling the water supply device to stop supplying water to the ice making tray if a temperature value detected from the temperature sensor is greater than a pre-configured value, and controlling the ice making device to perform a check cycle.
