Abstract:
A refrigerator capable of maintaining the quality of ice comprises: a main body having at least one storage compartment; an ice making tray disposed inside the at least one storage compartment; a cooling device which cools the at least one storage compartment; a water supply device which supplies water to the ice making tray; a flow sensor which detects a water supply amount of the water supply device; and a control unit which, if the water supply amount detected by the flow sensor for a reference period of time after the water supply device is operated is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, stops the operation of the water supply device in response to the water supply amount having reached a first reference value, and if the water supply amount detected for the reference period of time is less than the first threshold value and greater than or equal to a second threshold value, stops the operation of the water supply device in response to the water supply amount having reached a second reference value less than the first reference value.
