Abstract:
A refrigerator having a first storage chamber (2) and a second storage chamber (3) that are separated in a thermally insulated manner and having parallelly arranged cold air circuits; a first damper (13) for opening and closing a connection between a cooler (17) and the inflow side of the second storage chamber (3); a second damper (20) for opening and closing a connection between the cooler (17) and the outflow side of the second storage chamber (3) and guiding cold air to the inflow side of the second storage chamber (3); a blower (14) for circulating cold air in the temperature switching chamber (3) when the first and second dampers (13, 20) are closed; and temperature sensors (24, 16) arranged at the upper and lower parts of the second storage chamber (3). The refrigerator has a coarse heat removal mode where rapid cooling operation and temperature detection operation are repeated. In the rapid cooling operation, the blower (14) is driven, with the first damper (13) and the second damper (20) constantly opened, to cool the second storage chamber (3). In the temperature detection operation, the first storage chamber (2) is cooled with a connection between the cooler (17) and the first storage chamber (2) opened, and the temperature in the second storage chamber (3) is detected by the temperature sensors (24, 16) when a predetermined time has passed after the first and second dampers (13, 20) are closed and the blower (14) is stopped. When temperatures detected by the temperature sensors (24, 16) in the temperature detection operation are less than a predetermined temperature difference, the coarse heat removal mode is finished.
