Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator with improved energy saving ability and better maintainability. This refrigerator comprises: a refrigeration compartment (4) for refrigerating stored items; a freezer compartment (5) for freezing stored items, located adjacent to and below the refrigeration compartment (4) with an thermal insulation wall (18) therebetween; a water supply tank (50) mounted on the thermal insulation wall (18); and an ice making tray (22) disposed in the freezer compartment (5) and supplied with water from the water supply tank (50). The water supply tank (50) is provided with a water reservoir (51) for storing water from the water supply and projections (52, 53, 54, 55, 56) projecting downwardly from a bottom wall (51a) of the water reservoir (51) and provided at least on the front and the rear of the water reservoir (51), and the projections (52, 53, 54, 55, 56) form an airway (59) through which cold air flows between the bottom wall (51a) of the water reservoir (51) and the thermal insulation wall (18).
