Abstract:
A refrigerator according to the present invention is a refrigerator having at least one storage compartment. The refrigerator is provided with: a camera that acquires an image of an opening of the storage compartment; a detection means that detects passing of an object through the opening; and a control means that causes the camera to perform image acquisition when the detection means detects passing of the object through the opening. Accordingly, information about food to be stored in an accommodating compartment can be more reliably obtained.
