Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refrigerator and, more particularly, to a refrigerator comprising: a body having a freezing chamber provided in the lower portion thereof and having a refrigerant chamber provided in the upper portion thereof; and an ice-making chamber inside the refrigerant chamber, the ice-making chamber being delimited by a heat insulator separately from the refrigerant chamber. The ice-making chamber comprises: an evaporator in which cold air is formed by heat exchange and then discharged; an ice-making portion having a mold such that ice is made by the cold air; an ice storage portion in which the ice is stored after being transferred thereto; a centrifugal fan for circulating the cold air from a connecting channel toward a lower channel; and an ice-making channel disposed so as to extend through the lower portion of the mold, the ice-making channel communicating with the evaporator and the ice storage portion. Alternatively, the refrigerator comprises: a body having a freezing chamber provided in the lower portion thereof and having a refrigerant chamber provided in the upper portion thereof; and an ice-making chamber inside the refrigerant chamber, the ice-making chamber being delimited by a heat insulator separately from the refrigerant chamber. The ice-making chamber comprises: an evaporator in which cold air is formed by heat exchange and then discharged; an ice-making portion having a mold such that ice is made by the cold air; an ice storage portion disposed beneath the ice-making portion such that the ice is transferred and then stored therein; and a centrifugal fan disposed between the ice storage portion and an inlet of the evaporator so as to suction cold air and to circulate same toward an outlet of the evaporator. The above configuration improves ice-making capability.
