Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising: a main body; a freezing chamber provided in a lower portion of the main body; and a refrigerating chamber and an ice-making chamber provided in an upper portion of the main body, wherein, a heat insulating material is injected in the body and integrally foamed therein to simultaneously form the refrigerating chamber and the ice-making chamber as independent heat-insulation spaces. The ice-making chamber is cooled down by an independent cooling unit that is different from those of the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber so as to independently control the temperature thereof, and can be opened and closed by an ice-making chamber door that is separately provided from doors for opening and closing the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber. That is, in a state in which a storage space in the main body is partitioned into the refrigerating chamber, the freezing chamber, and the ice-making chamber from the beginning, the heat insulating material is injected and integrally foamed to simultaneously form the refrigerating chamber, the freezing chamber, and the ice-making chamber as independent heat insulating spaces, and the temperature of the ice-making chamber can be independently controlled by using the cooling unit that is independent from those of the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber. Thus, the ice-making chamber is not dependent upon the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber, but is formed and operated as an independent component that is completely different from the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber.
