The present invention relates to a refrigerator and, in particular, to a refrigerator comprising: a main body including an inner case having a storage space therein and a partition part and a partition wall that divide the storage space into a refrigeration compartment, a freezer compartment, and an icemaker compartment, and an outer case accommodating and enclosing the inner case; and a mounting part recessed inwardly in the rear wall of the inner case and disposed at the rear side of the icemaker compartment, wherein the inner case further includes an evaporator case accommodated in the mounting part and disposed between the inner case and the outer case, wherein the evaporator case installed outside the rear side of the icemaker compartment operates as a separate machine compartment having, installed therein, an evaporator assembly and a fan assembly which are cooling units, such that the evaporator assembly and the fan assembly are not located in the icemaker compartment, thereby increasing the space utilization of the icemaker compartment, and increasing the amount of ice production and storage of ice in the icemaker compartment while keeping the entire size of the icemaker compartment compact.
