Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a first motor generator (1) which is used for generation of electricity and which is driven by an internal combustion engine (2); and a second motor generator (4) which is used for running and which is driven by a battery (5). Information regarding a road ahead of the road on which travelling is currently taking place is acquired, and a prediction is made as to whether regenerative power to be obtained on a downhill road will cause SOC of the battery (5) to exceed an upper usage limit HL. If the prediction shows that the upper usage limit HL will be exceeded, EV-traveling is performed in advance so as to lower the SOC, and the internal combustion engine (2) is idled during downhill road travel using a portion of the regenerative power. As a result, since the charging power to the battery (5) is reduced that much, and a rise in temperature of the battery (5) is suppressed.
