Abstract:
An information system, which utilizes a mobile telephone terminal capable of performing radio communications via a public communication network and via a radio LAN (WiFi), comprises: a center that manages the whole system; a plurality of fixed station side control signal transmission/reception means that are placed in a region and connected to the center; and a special battery pack that is removably inserted in the mobile telephone terminal. The special battery pack comprises: a mobile station side control signal transmission/reception means that can perform radio communications with a plurality of regional radio LAN access points placed in the region and connected to the center and with the fixed station side control signal transmission/reception means; and a compulsory control means that communicates with a standard control means of the mobile telephone terminal and with the center via the fixed station side and mobile station side control signal transmission/reception means. When having received a predetermined control signal from the center, the compulsory control means controls the standard control means such that a radio LAN means of the mobile telephone terminal is connected to the nearest regional radio LAN access point.
