Abstract:
Provided are a registration method and apparatus. The method comprises: an access device receiving a first fixed network message from a terminal device, the message comprising a first NAS message for requesting registration with a core network, and sending the first NAS message to a CP device of the core network; after the CP device completes the registration of the terminal device with the core network, the CP device sending an NAS registration completion message to the access device; and the access device sending a second fixed network message to the terminal device, the message carrying a second NAS message for indicating that the registration with the core network has been completed. Since in the process of registering with an access network, an NAS message for requesting registration with a core network is also carried in a fixed network message and sent to the access device so as to simultaneously carry out the registration with the core network, reducing the time for the terminal device to be registered with the access network and the core network; at the same time, since the NAS message is carried in the fixed network message, there is no need to provide a specialised data channel to deliver the NAS message, thus improving the resource utilisation rate.
