Abstract:
This reinforcement member for a vehicle is provided with a cylindrical body section having a continuously closed cross-section when cut by a plane intersecting a longitudinal direction. When mounted on the vehicle, the cylindrical body section has a first surface which is positioned inside the vehicle, a second surface which is separated from and faces the first surface, a third surface which connects the first surface and the second surface, a fourth surface which extends away from the second surface, and a fifth surface which connects the fourth surface and the first surface. In a cross-sectional view in the longitudinal direction, if an imaginary line connecting a first intersection where the first surface and the third surface intersect, and a second intersection where the second surface and the third surface intersect is set, a third intersection where the fourth surface and the fifth surface intersect protrudes outward relative to the imaginary line, and the cylindrical body section has a change section where the position of the third intersection in the direction in which the first surface and the second surface face each other changes in the longitudinal direction.
