Title:
REINFORCEMENT POLYESTER CORDS FOR RUBBERS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/111297
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A process for the production of reinforcement polyester cords for rubbers, characterized in that adhesiveness to rubber is imparted to a polyester fibrous material by treating the material with a combination of four treatment fluids, i.e., (A) a treatment fluid containing a carrier, (B) an aqueous solution of a blocked isocyanate, (C) a dispersion of an epoxy compound, and (D) a resorcinol/formaldehyde/latex (RFL) mixed fluid, with the proviso that the material is treated with the first treatment fluid containing at least the fluid (A) and then with the second treatment fluid containing at least the mixed fluid (D), and subjecting the treated material to heat treatment under a normalizing tension adjusted to 0.2cN/dtex or above. The reinforcement polyester cords have high elastic moduli and are remarkably improved in the adhesiveness after thermal aging and tenacity retention as determined after long-time exposure to high temperature in rubber, thus being suitable for tire cap plies.
