Title:
REINFORCING BAR BINDING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/034065
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A reinforcing bar binding machine of a simple construction and a small weight enables the prevention of the exposure of a wire to the outside of concrete, which causes the reinforcing bars to be corroded, by reducing the height of a twisted portion of a wire loop. This machine comprises a machine body (1), and a loop forming unit (3) provided at a front end portion of the machine body (1) and having a pair of groove-carrying bent members (2A, 2B) provided so that the bent members can be opened and closed. The machine body (1) is provided with a wire supply unit (5) for sending a wire (4) to the grooved portions of the bent members (2A, 2B) which are closed so as to enclose crossing portions of reinforcing bars (60), and thereby forming a loop of the wire (4), and a driving mechanism (6) for carrying out in order by one motor (21) the opening and closing of the bent members (2A, 2B), the forward and backward movements of a cutter (36), which is adapted to cut the wire (4) sent to the grooved portions after the loop has been formed, and the forward and backward movements and turning of a pair of spaced and parallel pin members (37) for twisting the formed loop and binding the reinforcing bars (60) by the wire (4).
