Abstract:
Provided are a relative angle detection apparatus suitable for expanding torque detection range, a torque sensor provided with this relative angle detection apparatus, an electric power steering apparatus, and a vehicle. In the present invention, on the basis of a first cosine signal representing cos(θos+Δθ) and a first sine signal representing sin(θos+Δθ) in accordance with the rotation angle (θis) of a first multipole ring magnet (10) that rotates in synchronism with an input shaft (22a), and a second cosine signal representing cosθos and a second sine signal representing sinθos in accordance with the rotation angle (θos) of a second multipole ring magnet (11) that rotates in synchronism with an output shaft (22b) arranged to be coaxial with the input shaft (22a), sinΔθ and cosΔθ in accordance with the relative angle (Δθ) between the input shaft (22a) and the output shaft (22b) are computed, and the relative angle (Δθ) is computed from Δθ = arctan(sinΔθ/cosΔθ).
