Abstract:
The present invention provides a relay, an arc control apparatus, and an arc control method. The arc control apparatus comprises: a semiconductor switch which is disposed between a load and a power supply so as to switch on or off power, and is connected in parallel to a mechanical relay switch including a fixed electrode and a movable electrode; and a semiconductor switch driving unit which is configured to drive the semiconductor switch. The semiconductor element driving unit drives the semiconductor switch in the course of transitioning from an open state, in which the movable electrode is separated from the fixed electrode, to a short state, in which the movable electrode is in contact with the fixed electrode, and thus forms a current path between the fixed electrode and the movable electrode, thereby controlling arc generation. Additionally, in the course of transitioning from the short state to the open state, the semiconductor element driving unit drives the semiconductor switch, and thus forms a current path between the fixed electrode and the movable electrode, thereby controlling arc generation.
