Abstract:
[Problem] To realize prevention/preservation-directed monitoring by SNMP polling that is suited to a large-scale network. [Solution] A controller 1 according to the present invention, the controller 1 being used in a system for monitoring a plurality of devices 3 to be monitored by simple network management protocol (SNMP) polling, comprises a request replication unit 12 for replicating an SNMP request from an operator terminal 2, and a request transmission unit 13 for simultaneously transmitting the replicated SNMP request to each of the devices 3 being monitored. The controller 1 also comprises a response calculation unit 15 for calculating, in accordance with a monitoring policy held by a monitoring policy database 18, a response value for the operator from the response values of the devices 3 being monitored that are held by a device information database 17.
