Abstract:
An OCU (6) which relays communication between an ONU performing upstream 1G transmission and an OLT, and between an ONU performing upstream 10G transmission and an OLT, wherein the OCU (6) is provided with: an upstream 1G (Rx) (18) which converts optical signals received from the ONU performing upstream 1G transmission to electric signals; a buffer (19) which buffers the electric signals; and an upstream 10G (Tx) (20) which transmits, to the OLT, a bandwidth allocation request requesting bandwidth allocation for communication from the OCU itself to the OLT, and within the transmission grant time period allocated by the OLT, reads the electric signals stored in the buffer (19) converts the electric signals to optical signals having a communication speed of 10G, and performs transmission.
