Provided is a release device for a molded article in a mold comprising an inclined slide mechanism, wherein the device comprises: an inclined shaft (10) that forms on an upper side thereof a horizontal portion, that forms near an upper end thereof a vertically-shaped vertical region, that has a horizontal through-hole in the vertical region, and that is formed so that the lower end of the vertical region becomes an inclined slide region; and a vertical shaft (20) that is formed so that overall the vertical shaft is parallel to the vertical region and is substantially the same length as the inclined shaft, and that is provided with a pin member (21) which penetrates the horizontal through-hole formed in the vertical region and which is fixed so as to be freely moveable. The mold release device is configured so as to facilitate smooth release due to the following: the inclined shaft (10) and the vertical shaft (20) move vertically at the same time, and in conjunction with the approach of the inclined shaft (10) to the vertical shaft (20) when the inclined shaft rises, the tip of the pin member (21) which penetrates the horizontal through-hole projects from the through-hole and the tip of the pin member (21) comes into contact with a hold-down target and thereby holds down such target so that the target does not move.
