Abstract:
Provided is a remaining-battery-capacity estimation method whereby measurement of battery discharge is exploited to allow the true value to be estimated in a short time. In this remaining-battery-capacity estimation method for estimating the remaining capacity of a battery that is rechargeable and thus can be used repeatedly, an explained variable for estimating remaining capacity of a battery is defined; a plurality of explanatory variables that are of high importance as elements used for the estimation of remaining capacity and that have linearity are extracted; a relational formula that represents the relationship between the explained variable and the explanatory variables is derived as a regression formula; the regression formula is utilized to carry out a timewise lapse estimate for at least one of the battery discharge voltage and the battery discharge current, to estimate the remaining battery capacity.
