Abstract:

Provided is a remaining fuel amount warning device for a vehicle, allowing intuitive recognition that the remaining fuel amount is less than a prescribed value. The remaining fuel amount warning device for a vehicle, which warns that the remaining fuel amount is less than the prescribed value on the basis of the output of a fuel gauge 6 that measures the amount of fuel remaining in a fuel tank 13, is provided with a combustion state changing means 2 for changing the combustion state of an engine E. When the remaining fuel amount becomes less than the prescribed value, the combustion state of the engine E is changed by the combustion state changing means 2, so as to perform remaining amount warning control wherein vibrations different from those of normal driving are generated. A warning confirmation button 5, which suspends the remaining amount warning control for a prescribed period of time on the basis of an operation by an occupant, also serves as a starter switch for starting the engine E. The remaining amount warning control is performed periodically at a prescribed interval, and the prescribed interval is changed according to changes in the remaining fuel amount, amount of fuel consumed, travel distance and elapsed time as the vehicle travels.
