Abstract:
It is intended to provide a remedy for hyperactive bladder which comprises, as the active ingredient, nicorandil represented by the following structural formula or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt. In this remedy for hyperactive bladder, nicorandil that serves as the active ingredient has an effect of opening the KATP channel and a nitric acid drug-like effect. Further, the remedy for hyperactive bladder is expected as exhibiting an effect of contributing to the achievement of the state wherein the contraction/relaxation motions of the abdominal wall and bladder wall muscles and the contraction/relaxation motions of the urethral sphincter reflexively and appropriately act in harmony in the course of urination and urine collection while neither inducing hypouresis/anuria nor exhibiting serious side effects.
