A remote control device (10) and an unmanned aerial vehicle. The remote control device (10) comprises a display screen (1), a rotary shaft (11), and a remote control body (2). The remote control body (2) comprises a housing (40), a joystick (30), and a protective lock mechanism (20). The joystick (30) is disposed in the housing (40), and can be erected or flatly laid relative to the housing (40). The protective lock mechanism (20) is disposed in the housing (40). The display screen (1) is connected to the housing (40) by means of the rotary shaft (11), and can rotate around the rotary shaft (11). The protective lock mechanism (20) is connected to the rotary shaft (11). The protective lock mechanism (20) in a first state locks the display screen (1) when the display screen (1) rotates by an angle towards the direction close to the housing (40) in a screen closing process, so as to stop the display screen (1) from continuing to rotate. When external force is applied to the protective lock mechanism (20), the protective lock mechanism (20) is switched from the first state to a second state, the protective lock mechanism (20) removes the blocking on the display screen (1), so that the display screen (1) continues to rotate to complete screen closing actions. By means of the remote control device (10), the display screen (1) can be prevented from being damaged by the joystick (30).
