A floor signal indicating the floor at which an elevator car (102), which is provided in the elevator (101), is positioned, is acquired from a control board (110) that controls the movement of an elevator (101), and, each time the floor indicated by the signal is changed, the number of floors that the elevator car (102) has moved is counted on the basis of the acquired signal. In addition, the travel distance for the elevator car (102) is calculated based on the number of floors counted and the measurements for one floor of a building provided with the elevator (101), and the calculated travel distance is stored. Furthermore, if an instruction for diagnosis is received from a management server computer (130), the information concerning the travel distance that has been stored up until when the diagnosis instruction is received is transmitted to the management server computer (130).
