Disclosed is a remote operation actuator which can alter the attitude of a gripping tool provided at the tip of an elongated guide section by means of remote operation, which has a remote operation mechanism of comparatively simple construction, and in which the shape of the guide section is not limited. The remote operation actuator comprises: an elongated guide section (3); a tip member (2) which is mounted at the tip of the elongated guide section (3) in a manner such that the attitude of the tip member (2) may be freely altered; an opening-closing type gripping tool (1) which is provided in the tip member (2); a rotary member (13) which is freely rotatably provided in the tip member (2); and a rotation/opening-closing conversion mechanism (14) which converts rotary operation of the rotary member (13) into opening-closing operation of the gripping tool (1). The guide section (3) has in its interior a rotary shaft (22) which transmits rotation to the rotary member (13), and a guide hole (30a) which penetrates to both ends. An attitude operation member (31), which alters the attitude of the tip member (2) by the tip of the attitude operation member (31) making contact with the tip member (2) and advancing and receding, is inserted inside the guide hole (30a) in such a manner as to be capable of being advanced and retracted.
