Abstract:
This remote ship steering system comprises a ship and an input device, wherein: the ship is provided with an actuator having a function of generating a thrust force for the ship, and a function of causing the ship to generate a moment, an operating unit, a ship control device, a ship position detecting unit, and a communication unit; the input device comprises a communication unit, an input device position detecting unit, an operating unit, and a notifying unit; the ship control device has a normal steering mode and a remote steering mode; in the remote steering mode, the ship communication unit receives information indicating a position of the input device from the input device, the ship control device calculates a distance between the input device and the ship, if the distance between the input device and the ship is equal to or greater than a threshold, the ship communication unit transmits information indicating that the distance between the input device and the ship is equal to or greater than the threshold to the input device, and the notifying unit issues a notification to a remote operator who is using the input device; and the threshold is smaller than a maximum value of the distance between the input device and the ship at which the input device communication unit and the ship communication unit can communicate with one another.
