Abstract:

In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a method for removing rendering commands from a rendering queue. The method includes receiving, at a compositor, a plurality of layers from one or more applications, each of the plurality of layers corresponding to a portion of a first frame configured to be displayed on a display device. In some examples, the method also includes determining, at the compositor, that a first layer of the plurality of layers will not be visible when the first frame is displayed on the display device. In some examples, the method also includes, in response to the determining, configuring a graphics processing unit (GPU) to prevent rendering of the first layer.
