Abstract:
A representative image of a plurality of images taken from different viewpoints is determined. A shaded region which does not appear in a right-eye image is detected in a left-eye image. Similarly, a shaded region which does not appear in the left-eye image is detected in the right-eye image. Scores are calculated from the characteristics of the images of the shaded regions. The image which contains the shaded region having the higher calculated score serves as the representative image.
