Abstract:
When a conventional reproducing device such as a BD player capable of obtaining an application program and executing it starts up an application program, a malfunction may occur or the device may fail. A reproducing device of the invention prevents such a possibility. The reproducing device obtains an application program, acquires operation history information on the numbers of operation failures in the past of the same type as the reproducing device and the application program, and judges whether or not to install the application program or whether or not to execute it on the basis of the operation history information and the criterion information stored in itself.
