Abstract:
It is possible to provide a reproduction device, method, and program capable of
appropriately performing jump production when reproducing in real time, a content
transmitted via a network. A terminal (3) receives stream data transmitted from
a server (1), buffers it, and reproduces it. The terminal (3) has a plurality of
buffers and can buffer in advance data on the content at the position of the jump destination
to which a jump may be performed upon jump reproduction, in the plurality of buffers.
As a result, when a jump reproduction is requested, the terminal (3) can start
reproduction from the jump destination without a delay since the data on the jump
destination is already buffered. The present invention can be applied, for
example, to a television receiver.
