Abstract:
A reproduction device generates a first light group including signal light and reference light with a phase difference of substantially 0° therebetween, a second light group including signal light and reference light with a phase difference of substantially 180° therebetween, a third light group including signal light and reference light with a phase difference of substantially 90° therebetween, and a fourth light group including signal light and reference light with a phase difference of substantially 270° therebetween. The reproduction device calculates a first differential signal representing a difference between a first light receiving signal generated by a first light receiving element and a second light receiving signal generated by a second light receiving element, and a second differential signal representing a difference between a third light receiving signal generated by a third light receiving element and a fourth light receiving signal generated by a fourth light receiving element. The reproduction device supplies the first differential signal and the second differential signal to respective FIR filters; creates an equalization error from an output signal from the FIR filter; and controls a tap coefficient of the FIR filter so as to decrease the equalization error.
