Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a required quantity calculation device and a required quantity calculation method for calculating a required quantity while avoiding stock shortage or excessive stock. The required quantity calculation device comprises: a required quantity calculation unit 11 which calculates, on the basis of the specification value of each specification item, the required quantity of parts that constitute a product; a configuration information storage unit 32 which stores configuration information indicating a relationship between a specification value, and the type and the number of parts corresponding to the specification value; and a predicted value storage unit (42) which stores a predicted value for the specification value of each specification item. The required quantity calculation unit calculates, for a specification item for which the specification value is inputted, the required quantity of parts based on the specification value while referring to the configuration information, and calculates, for a specification item for which the specification value is not inputted, the required quantity of parts based on the predicted value while referring to the configuration information.
