Abstract:
A residual soot amount calculation method M100 for calculating the amount of soot remaining on a component after cleaning of the component used in a state where soot discharged from an internal combustion engine can be deposited, comprises: a before-use unique mass acquisition step S101 for acquiring a unique mass before use of the component; an after-cleaning unique mass acquisition step S102 for acquiring a unique mass after cleaning of the component; and a residual soot amount calculation step S103 for calculating the amount of soot remaining on the component after the cleaning of the component, on the basis of the unique mass before the use of the component acquired in the before-use unique mass acquisition step S101 and the unique mass after the cleaning of the component acquired in the after-cleaning unique mass acquisition step S102.
