Abstract:
This disclosure relates to resilient side rails for medical tables. In some aspects, a side rail for (106) a medical table (100) includes an elongated body (110) having a height (113) of about 25 mm to 30 mm, more particularly of 28,6 mm and a width (111) of about 8 mm to 10 mm, more particularly of 9,5 mm, that are configured to be received by a medical accessory (109). The elongated body (110) is formed of a material having a modulus of elasticity that is about 50 gigapascals to about 150 gigapascals and a yield strength that is about 40 x 107 pascals to about 120 x 107 pascals, wherein when the side rail (106) is supported along a first, wide side by two support members (204) that are about 300 mm apart and a 500 newton force is applied midway between the support members (204) to a second, opposite side of the side rail (106), a maximum deflection of in the side rail (106) is less than about 5 mm, and when the force is released, the side rail (106) rebounds and substantially no permanent deformation of the side rail (106) occurs.
