Abstract:
A resin coated inorganic or metallic pigment comprising: a monomer (B1) of a radically polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid or radically polymerizable phosphate ester and a monomer (B2) including 3-6 (meth) acryloyloxy groups per molecule, said monomers (B1 and B2) being radically polymerized in a polymerization initiator (C) including a nitrile group; and an acrylic copolymer (B) formed upon inorganic or metallic particles (A). The resin coated inorganic or metallic pigment is characterized by: the inorganic or metallic particles (A) being coated by a coating resin containing the acrylic copolymer (B); and including a structure indicated by general formula (1) and derived from the polymerization initiator (C), at the end of the acrylic copolymer (B). [In formula (1), R1 indicates a methyl group and R2 indicates a C2-5 alkyl group, etc.]
