Abstract:
The present invention provides a resin composition for display substrates, which is capable of forming a resin thin film for display substrates, said resin thin film having high heat resistance, adequate linear expansion coefficient and high tensile strength. The present invention solves the above-mentioned problem by a resin composition for display substrates, which contains a polyamic acid that contains structural units represented by formula (1-1) and formula (1-2) in an amount of at least 50% by mole and has a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 or more. (In the formulae, Ar1 represents a group of formula (2); Ar2 represents a group of formula (3); Ar3 represents a group of formula (4); and n1 and n2 represent the numbers of respective repeating units and satisfy the condition of n1/n2 = 1.7-8.2.)
