Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a resin composition capable of forming a film exhibiting excellent cold-water solubility, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. The present invention is a resin composition containing a modified polyvinyl alcohol containing a monomer unit represented by formula (I), and an amine compound represented by formula (II), wherein the amine compound content is 0.01-1 parts by mass, inclusive, relative to 100 parts by mass of the modified polyvinyl alcohol. In formula (I), R1 is a hydrogen atom, or a C1-8 straight-chain or branched alkyl group. R2 is -R3-SO3
-X+, -R3-N+(R4)3Cl-, or a hydrogen atom. R3 is a C1-10 straight-chain or branched alkanediyl group. X+ is a hydrogen atom, a metal atom, or an ammonium group. R4 is a C1-5 straight-chain or branched alkyl group. In formula (II), R5 is -R3'-SO3
-X+', -R3'-N+(R4')3Cl-, or a hydrogen atom.
