Abstract:
The present invention provides a resin composition for optical molding which, when molded by optical molding (in particular, liquid tank optical molding), has little odor, is easy to mold due to the low viscosity thereof and can provide a molded article having excellent toughness and high water resistance. This resin composition for optical molding is particularly suitable for a dental occlusal splint device, a mouth guard and a denture base material. The present invention pertains to a resin composition for optical molding which comprises: an α,β-unsaturated double bond group-containing compound (A) having a nitrogen atom-containing cyclic structure (a); a (meth)acrylate compound (B) having an atmospheric pressure boiling point of 280oC or higher and having a carbocyclic group but not having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; a photopolymerization initiator (C); and, if necessary, a polyfunctional polymerizable monomer (E) having a molecular weight of 500 or less which does not fall under the category of the α,β-unsaturated double bond group-containing compound (A) or the (meth)acrylate compound (B), wherein the content of the polyfunctional polymerizable monomer (E) having a molecular weight of 500 or less is not more than 20 mass% relative to the total amount of polymerizable compounds contained in the resin composition for optical molding.
