Abstract:
A resin modifier comprising a conjugated diene homo- or copolymer in which the cis-bond units account for 40 % or more of the conjugated diene monomer units, the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) is 20,000 to 10,000,000, and the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to the number-average molecular weight (Mn) and the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) satisfy the following relationship: log(Mw/Mn)$m(f)0.162xlog(Mw)-0.682. A resin composition (i) obtained by compounding a resin ingredient with the resin modifier and a polyaromatic vinyl resin composition (ii) obtained by polymerizing an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of the resin modifier are satisfactory in low-temperature impact resistance and gloss and have an excellent balance therebetween.
