Abstract:
Provided is a resistance spot welding method which is capable of stably forming large nugget diameters, and ensuring sufficient cross tensile strength, even in cases when welding at several hundred points is continuously performed. In a method for resistance spot welding a set of sheets obtained by superposing steel sheets according to the present invention, main conduction, preliminary conduction prior to the main conduction, and subsequent conduction subsequent to the main conduction are performed, and a non-conduction time for which conduction is paused is provided between each conduction. The current values during the preliminary conduction and the subsequent conduction are higher than the current value during the main conduction. Furthermore, a two-stage applied pressure is employed. When F1(kN) represents the applied pressure during an early stage lasting until at least the end of the preliminary conduction, and F2(kN) represents the applied pressure during a later stage subsequent to the early stage, the applied pressure is controlled such that F2/F1 ≤ 0.9 is satisfied from the end of the preliminary conduction until the end of the main conduction.
