Abstract:
Provided is a resistance spot welding method whereby expulsion during welding or a reduction in sheet thickness at a weld can be suppressed and delayed fracture of a welded joint can be suppressed. A resistance spot welding method for overlapping two or more steel sheets on each other and electrifying the steel sheets while sandwiching and pressing the steel sheets in a pair of welding electrodes to form a nugget and join the steel sheets, wherein the resistance spot welding method has a main electrification step for forming a nugget part by electrifying the steel sheets with a first electric current I1 while pressing the steel sheets with a first pressing force F1 (kN), and a later electrification step for electrifying for an electrification time ta (ms) represented by formula (2) with a second electric current I2 (kA) represented by formula (1) subsequent to the main electrification step and cooling the nugget part, the later electrification step having a first pressing step for maintaining the first pressing force F1 for a pressing delay time tb (ms) represented by formula (3) from the start of the later electrification step, and a second pressing step for pressing with a second pressing force F2 (kN) represented by formula (4) subsequent to the first pressing step.
