This resistance type oxygen gas sensor comprises an oxygen gas detection unit for detecting an oxygen gas, the oxygen gas detection unit being mainly composed of a semiconductor material that has a composition represented by RE(Ba2-x,REx)Cu3Oy (wherein RE represents a rare earth element; x satisfies 0 ≤ x ≤ 1.2; and y satisfies 6.0 ≤ y ≤ 7.5).
