Title:
RESONANT DEVICE, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC STIMULATION OF THE ACUPUNCUTURE POINTS AND OTHER ELECTRO-DERMAL ACTIVE ZONES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/037379
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention describes a device and apparatus made of a set of passive resonant devices, used for the high frequency electromagnetic stimulation of the acupuncture points and meridians, or the electrodermal active zones, located outside of the acupuncture points, without an external energy source, with the purpose of changing a physiological state, or for the treatment of a given pathological condition, by obtaining local effects of stimulation or inhibition, or systemic effects, that can be utilised in the medical therapy. The passive resonant electromagnetic device is built from standard electronic components placed on one or more surface boards, having the geometric shape of a circle, or regular polygons, calibrated such to insure unique resonant frequencies, or multiple, in the range of 0.5 to 300 MHz. The method per the invention, consists of placing a set of such passive electronic devices, having an interactive field mostly variable magnetic, in certain locations known from the acupuncture therapies, both as position as well as effect and interaction. Such devices are effective for the bio energetic balancing (stimulation-dispersion) of the body. Being under the influence of the magnetic field and the electromagnetic radiation generated by the organism, the device will ensure the bioenergetic transfer useful for the body's rebalance.

Description:
RESONANT DEVICE, APPARATUS AN D METHOD FOR THE H IGH FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC STIMU LATION OF THE ACUPUNCUTU RE POINTS AN D OTH ER ELECTRO-DERMAL ACTIVE ZONES

FIELD OF INVENTION

[0001] The current invention discloses a method, an apparatus and an electromagnetic passive resonant device of high frequency, that, by multiplication and calibration on identical and/or different frequencies, determine local or systemic effects that can be utilized therapeutically with the purpose of changing a physiological state or for the treatment of a pathological affection based on the presented method of implementation, by the placement of these devices, based on pre-established treatment schemas, on the acupuncture points and meridians or on other active dermal zones. This invention also referes to electronics apparatuses that permit the implementation of this method.

BACKGROUN D OF INVENTION

[0002] The action of the acupuncture works by the stimulation (mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical, etc.) of some pointy cutaneous zones - the acupuncture points (AP), acupoints or "the active points of the skin" - spread on the surface of the cutaneous layer, in 14 lines, conventionally called meridians, 12 even meridians and two odds, placed on the longitudinal axis of the body.

[0003] Based on the Traditional Chinese Acupuncture Academy, it was proved that the active points and their connecting meridians, are firstly functional entities. The study of the electromagnetic field distribution of the acupuncture meridians, performed with high resolution superconductive magnetometry (SQUID: superconducting quantum interference device) evidenced the bio-energetic role of the meridians systems, for example, the role of collecting electromagnetic energy (solar collector), and transportation of the collected energy, along the 12 pairs of meridians. [0004] Proving the distinct electrical proprieties of the active cutaneous points, was not only the confirmation of millenary observations of the acupuncture points, but also the proof of some functional particularities with implications in the energetic and informational homeostasis of living organisms.

[0005] From the study of the active and passive electrical proprieties of the acupuncture points, some characteristics stand out, that clearly differentiate them by the dermal tegument considered inactive: the acupoints have electrical characteristics resembling the semiconductor substances - the intermediary conductivity between metals and dielectrics;

[0006] The electrical conductivity increases proportional with the temperature increase; the conductivity is unidirectional; the acupoints have ionizing proprieties with electrons and photons; the acupoints have a stimulation level similar with the opening current of the semiconductors; the potential difference in the active points, can be compared with the emission of electrons in the presence of structure impurities.

BACKGROUN D OF THE RELATED ART

[0007] Numerous processes and methods are known for the stimulation of acupuncture points and of the other active areas of skin (auricular points, cranial, palm of the hands, points Weihe, Dujardin, Voll etc.) that imply the application and variation of mechanical stimuli (acupuncture needles), thermal (moxybustion, infrared radiation), electrical, electromagnetic, pulsed electromagnetic, magnetics, ultrasonic, microwaves, laser, sounds, colors, etc.

[0008] The diversity and the current state of the stimulation methods and devices, are synthetically presented in the following list of patents:

[0009] 1) French patent application no. 75 04116 filed on 10 February 1975 by the German company ELMATRON Gmbh, has the title "Apparatus for healing stimulation of the human or animal cells by electromagnetic impulses". This type of apparatus emits electromagnetic waves that have a fundamental frequency not clearly indicated (high frequency), but are modulated by repetitive impulses with frequencies in the range 0 - 1000 Hz. (modulation of 0-lOOOHz).

[0010] 2) The German patent of 29 October 1975, filed also in France as patent application no. 76 32116 by Messerschmitt-BOLKOW-Blohm, refers to "Apparatus of using the action of light for therapeutic treatments similar with acupuncture". This patent uses the projection of low power laser radiation, impulse generated by a trigger, with a modulation frequency from 2 Hz to 20 Hz, stimulating the specified established acupoints, with light spots about 1 mm in diameter, and producing the same effects as the ones obtained by stimulation with needles.

[0011] 3) The French patent application no. 76 32152 filed on November 24, 1976 by Mr. Pierre NOGIER, is titled "Method and apparatus for local stimulation with electromagnetic radiation". The radiation of the fundamental frequency is produced by an infrared radiation ray, that is at least semi-coherent, with a fundamental frequency of 73 Hz, and including many harmonics; it illuminates selected points on the body (unspecified), without presenting details on the obtained effects.

[0012] 4) The French patent application no. 79 04486 filed on February 15, 1979 by Mr. Pierre NOGI ER, is titled„Method and apparatus for magnetic treatment of living organisms". It describes a glass made device of Polaroid type, that is usually used for the polarization of light and that it's interposed between a source of magnetic flux and the treated organisms; the polarized flux penetrate deep in the organism, without loosing the polarization, unlike the un-polarized light. The apparatus based on this method was commercialized under the „POLARTRON" brand, and is used for soothing of the pain.

[0013] 5) The French patent application no 80 23007 filed on October 28, 1980 by Mr. Christian C MARET refers to "Light emitting apparatus having a physiologic effect through the skin". The device is quite complex, comprising an intermittent source of light having a time period of 2 to 6 seconds, that successively passes in the same sequence through a colored filter assembly, and then through layers of tissue impregnated with diluted active substances. This device is supposed to be applied on the wrist or on the user's foot, and it allows to be combined with a multitude of therapeutic actions with a corresponding selection of the associated filters with the active substances that are diluted and dynamically activated by using the homeopathy methods of Hahnemann.

[0014] 6) The French patent no 81 09663 applied on May 13 1981 by Bernard BRICOT describes "Leg device for treating the reflexogenic of the legs, especially the problems and affections caused by the spinal unbalance". The idea is to stimulate the reflex zones of the feet, and it's quite general because the claimed device can cover the whole surface of the foot with the help of a polarizer built from at least two plates or sheets made from a material that has determined the molecular or crystalline orientation, the plates being overlapped in such a manner that the polarizing axis are crossed. This device uses the same therapeutic effect as the POLARTRON, described in the NOGIER patent, but without an active magnetic source, that is considered as toxic of the intensity is too strong, especially for using on the foot. The therapeutic results are obtained after more months of rebalancing of the spinal cord, and by improving different functional ailments, related to sciatica.

[0015] 7) The German patent application no 33 26 513.5 filed on July 22, 1983 by Mr. Volkmar TETZNER, points to "Irradiating devices for photo-biologic and photo-chemical treatments". This device has an ultraviolet light source, used for lighting of the skin for treatment, especially for dermatological treatments, through a set of filters placed in pairs in an easy to replace case, depending of the treatment.

[0016] 8) The French patent application no 83 14020, filed on August 29, 1983 by Jean Bernard MOREZ, called "Devices for non-manual stimulation of the skin points known as acupuncture points" This invention refers to the acoustic stimulation with modulated low frequencies.

This device is built from one or more films that act as optical filters, placed in a foot sole, in the area of reflex zone that is to be stimulated. [0018] 10) The French patent application no 90 06241 filed on May 18, 1990 and then extended internationally on May 14, 1991 under the No. WO 91/17737 byby Sao VU-DINH, is named "Portable apparatus for acupuncture". This device of small size is built in a hand- watch type case, performs the electrical stimulation of the points on the inside face of the wrist, by applying voltages from 1 to 12 volts, for duration from 0.1 to 2 seconds, and a repeating frequency from 0.5 Hz to 10 Hz.

[0019] 11) the European patent no 0 447 568 Al filed on October 02, 1990 by Valery LOBAREV, Sergi Sitko and Vadim UUCH ENKO, described as "Apparatus for microwave resonance therapy". This device is made of an electromagnetic source with emission in the millimetric band (25 ... 150 GHz) for the stimulation of the resonant frequencies of the body.

[0020] 12) The US patent 6461375 Bl filed on June 13 1997 by Alain Baudry and Michel Marignan is titled "Method and apparatus for the electromagnetic stimulation of the skin, for treating pathologic conditions". The method and the device permit the electromagnetic stimulation of the skin for the adjusting of a physiological condition or for the applying treatment of a certain pathology. The device is characterized by being built from electronic components that generate an oscillation, at a resonant frequency induced from the exterior of the device.

[0021] 13) The US patent 6421560 Bl, filed on January 11, 2000 by Tae Woo Yoo is titled "Device for guiding the acupuncture spot, and methods of stimulation". The device includes a device of guiding the acupuncture spot, assisted by a computer.

[0022] 14) The patent US 6961622 filed on 31 October 2002 by Bruce R. Gilbert, is titled "Device for the surface stimulation of acupuncture points". The device if preferably in the shape of a disk and it has two primary layers: a first layer is a part of it, that is the lower part with the role of securing the sticking to the surface of the skin of the user. Then a second top layer, on the inner surface, on which the electric circuit is printed or applied in such a way that the electric circuit is inter-placed between the layers. The apparatus can be constructed in many sizes to match the size of the patient and to the location of the acupuncture point that is to be stimulated. The patent presents two distinct forms of the device: one is for single use and other for reusable devices. In the case of single usage, the first lower layer is preferably a foam with a non-conductive adhesive on both sides: the lower part is for adherence to the skin, and the upper part for adherence to the top polyester disk. The holes through this lower foam layer, include preferably eight holes concentrically spaced from a central hole in the middle of the lower foam layer. All these holes are preferably overloaded with a conductive gel that extends from the lower foam layer. The conductive circuit preferably printed on the lower side of the upper layer, has a series of connectors through the gel of each of the eight concentric holes, and a separate connector by the gel of the central hole, when the top layer is mounted on the lower layer. The printed circuit board, that could be a silver film or a silver chlorate polymer, is equipped with a hook (e), that could be permanent or temporary, applied on an integral stimulator, or from the distance, by contact or directly by conductive wire. In the reusable device, an adhesive material that is sensitive on pressure, makes the lower layer that permit multiple application on the skin of the patient. The lower adhesive layer is transparent, to indicate the central circular electrode - the ring electrode. The electrodes are preferably of silver film, or silver polymer chlorate. In any of the above configuration, the metal base insulated with polyurethane can be used for electric connections with the opposed ends of the wires connected to the end-connectors, for connecting to an impulse stimulator, or they can end in conductive wires.

[0023] 15) The patent application 10/441.803 publised under US 20030195585 Al, filed on May 19, 2003 by Gregory Gruzdowich, Thomas Grey, Robert Duffy, Hogar Tait and Thomas Mann is titled "Acupuncture device with stimulation electrode".

[0024] The device includes a central unit that includes a watch-type case, circuits for generating the acupuncture signals arranged on it, and a belt for mounting the body of the device on the wrist. The base unit has a standard construction. The device includes an assembly of attached electrodes.

[0025] The electrode assembly is attached on the base unit of the device. The electrode assembly includes a pair of electrodes and connectors for connecting the electrodes to the base unit. The output of the device depends on the circuits of the electrode assembly. Therefore, multiple assembly of electrodes can be made. The circuits of the base unit modify the output of the device, depending of the assembly electrode, that is attached on the base unit.

[0026] Most of this kind of apparatuses or methods, use external active power sources, making them more complicated for use, by dimension and weight, being impossible to be continuously worn, because they need a power source. Further, the action can be harmful, because the intensity of the radiation can have harmful effects on the body. The stimulation is sometimes continuous, but many times is pulsed or modulated by a signal of low frequency.

[0027] None of these equipment had results statistically proved and repeated. Many of these devices use electromagnetic emissions, especially in the visible light spectrum, or in infrared.

[0028] Devices of this kind are sometimes associated with filters (polarized of colored), for the optimization of the positive effects of the source; of which some are utilized in a direct mode on the body (laser, ultraviolet lamp, magnetic field, etc.). The filters are added to limit the radiation of the source, permitting only the pass of the active part of the flux and eventually the amplification of it.

[0029] Furthermore, these apparatuses are applied on the points that are never specified in a clear way by the inventors that observed in general the benefice effects on the body, but without results or proven tests described in their inventions, because the results can be different from a person to other, and only the experience of the user determine which zones of the body are the most receptive and what are the corresponding treatments.

[0030] Only a few techniques do not use an external active power source, like the invention of BRICOT, that use polarizing plates, and the invention of MARIGNAN and SOUVESTRE that use optical fiber, or the ones that use magnets, like the invention of Edouard LEBART that combine magnets with mechanical stimulation (French patent 2 687 075 of 13 August 1993).

[0031] The devices and apparatuses presented in the current state of the art, don't propose to act by high frequency magnetic impulses, and at the same time low energy that do not add an increase of the electromagnetic field that the patient is exposed. The electromagnetic pollution is omnipresent in the interaction with the patented devices presented above, but this is not present in the device, apparatus and the method that makes the object of the present patent.

[0032] The technical problem that is solved by this patent consists in the activation (toning or dispersion) of the acupuncture points, by feedback with the electromagnetic field of the body itself, using the magnetic component of the feedback of some high frequency passive resonant circuits.

[0033] The proposed solution in this patent uses the electromagnetic field of the patient, to activate the device or set of devices that are the subject of this invention.

[0034] The interaction with the acupuncture points is realized without injuring the skin, from a small distance, through the magnetic component selected by the device and applied by a "sharp" or "dull" impulse, depending on the intended result of local toning or dispersing.

[0035] None of the method or devices presented in the current state of the art, have the possibility of local stimulation, independent of a central unit, simultaneous and symmetric (bi-lateral body symmetry, cranio-caudal, frontal-posterior, volar-ventral), with variable high frequencies (within 0.5 - 300 MHz), of two or more (up to twenty) acupuncture points, situated on the same meridian (both branches) or on different meridians, fact that permits the result of a varied therapeutic effects, with a total lack of side effects, without energy consumption and with very low costs. BRIEF DESCRI PTION OF THE INVENTION

[0036] The passive resonant device, for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation is an original device for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation of the acupuncture points and meridians, without using an external source of energy. The device is applied directly on skin, or from a small distance, after a previous localization of those points and alcohol de- greasing. The purpose is obtaining a direct stimulation (electro-magnetic) or indirect (thermal, electrical of electromagnetic field) of the acupoint or the active cutaneous zone, resulting in the interaction between the skin at the level of the acupuncture points, or the active zone as an active electro and thermo dynamic interface, and the electromagnetic stimulation of the device.

[0037] Based on the current knowledge, the electromagnetic spectrum of waves cover an infinity of frequencies, presented on Table 1. The experimental usage of some of the frequency bands it is yet not possible with the current technologies. The current described application is within the bands found in the second part of this table. Table 1.

Long waves < 10 km > 30 kHz > 1.98e-29 J Very low frequencies > 10 km < 30 kHz < 1.99e-29 J

[0038] This description of the spectrum is enormous. The human body emits radiations with a relative high intensity in some of the bands, like the infrared band, but in some other bands - like the visible spectrum, the intensity of the emission is very weak - about a few hundred photons per second per centimeter square of the surface of the body. The power of the spectrum emitted by the human body is presented in Fig l.A [1] (Bembenek, 1998).

[0039] The effects of the continuous electromagnetic stimulation with different frequencies, are followed by local effects (increasing and diminution of micro-circulation, stimulation of the local metabolism, increasing or decreasing of the local temperature, generation of the local electric currents - self-propagated at the distance by paths of minimum electrical resistance, increasing of the local tissue oxygenation), or at the distance (stimulation of the acupuncture meridian system and of the organs or the correlated organic functions, the stimulation or inhibition of the neuro-endocrine system, stimulation of the tissue regeneration and repair mechanisms) that generate specific therapeutic effects for the points or the constellation of stimulated points.

[0040] The stimulation is made either with individual devices described here, or with an apparatus made of 1-10 sets of such devices, each one made of 2 resonant devices for the electromagnetic stimulation of high frequency of the acupuncture points and of other active electro-dermal zones, characterized by identical frequencies within the sets and by the placement of each device in the points and zones symmetric to the axis of symmetry of the body with which interacts (usually the same points on the same acupuncture meridians, knowing the fact that the acupuncture meridians are located as pairs placed symmetrically to the axis of symmetry of a body).

[0041] The method of stimulation as per this disclosure, consists of the application on two points, or more pair of points, placed according to the symmetry, of at most 20 devices, for one stimulation session, applied on the skin by a self-adhesive band, hypoallergenic and chemically inert. The maximum number of stimulation sessions for a treatment cycle is 15 with a pause between the treatment cycles of minimum 10 days.

[0042] The choice of the points and the application schema is based on the acupuncture principles or the modern complementary techniques, and it can be realized both by the authorized practitioner and by the patient herself, based on a comprehensive guide.

[0043] These devices, that contain passive electronic components, assembled on an insulated support, having a geometric shape preferably round, is applied directly on the skin, on the electrodermal active points and zones, and it determines the change of the electret, polarization and electrical conductivity behavior of the acupoints or dermal active zones.

[0044] It is known the fact that the biological systems are characterized by an electric conductor volume, non-homogenous and anisotropic, made of independent electric sources, that generate electromotive potentials that variably interfere in a non-uniform space. The electric field is a vector field, carrying the interaction between the electrical charges.

[0045] The internal electric field of the living bodies is quasi-stationary but this external shell - the skin - presents a state of permanent polarization with increasing conductivity and variable field. On the level of cutaneous surface, there are dipoles that generate increased values of electric potential, independent of the triboelectric and electrostatic charges, places in a mosaic, that, possibly favor the transfer of surface charges on the meridian lines.

[0046] The permanent dipolar momentums, recorded at this level, generate spontaneous micro-potentials, variable, that generate electromotive potentials with the propagation of the currents on the surface of their drain in the interior. The behavior of the electric field phenomena of the acupoints is similar with the superconductivity phenomena, but working at the ambient temperature.

[0047] The application of the quantum mechanics theory and the distribution of the fields on the highly-organized living structures, permitted the identification of the meridians as the final stage of the wave cycles in the organic coherent field, with projection on the body surface, on the acupuncture points. Based on this concept, the major function of the meridian system is the facility of the transfer of information between the organism and the environment, and the informational inter-correlation between different organs, tissues and systems. There were identified fractal fields or electromagnetic torsion that send the information without the energy transfer.

[0048] The electrical properties of the human skin are very complex, behaving as highly anisotropic resistors, parallel resistors-capacitors, and memristors (Johnsen, 2010). The acupuncture points, have also electret properties, that is, the center of the point is positively polarized against the surrounding areas.

[0049] The main carrier of the electricity in the skin and tissue is based mostly on ions, since the inter and intra cellular fluids are predominantly electrolytes. The Stratum Corneum (SC) which is the outer-most layer of the skin, presents a formidable barrier to the transport of hydrophilic or ionized species. For these reasons, an applied electric field, or electric current on the acupuncture points, has very limited penetration ability.

[0050] Collecting the electrical activity of the skin by direct contact, is also not practical or desired, for energy harvesting purposes in the application disclosed by this invention. Also, given the extremely low electrical levels, collecting this energy in this form, transforming, and generating it back to the body in a synergistic way, without an external source of energy, is highly unpractical.

[0051] On the other hand, the magnetic relative permeability of the skin and the tissues are very close to 1, and quasi isotropic. The magnetic fields penetrate easily the skin and the tissues. In the case of a variable magnetic field, since the tissues and the skin are fairly conductive mediums, the variable magnetic field self-induces in such mediums, not just on the surface, but relatively deep in the tissues, creating local looping electric currents, based mostly on the local anisotropic gradient of the resistivity of the skin and tissue.

[0052] Also, if desired, the harvesting of electric activity of the organism, can be done much more practical, by variable magnetic field coupling with the acupuncture points and the active electrodermal zones. There is no need for electrodes to touch the skin, or for very precise positioning of them, highly unpractical in a mobile application. And since a resonance effect happens in the device when harvesting the variable fields of the body, it is not so important that the fields generated by the organism are very weak.

[0053] This variable magnetic field interaction between the device and the local active areas of the skin (acupoints and active electrodermal zones), all happening at a resonance, will penetrate easily and effectively the skin layer and the tissues under, generating electric currents within these layers, otherwise highly difficult, if using only electrical-based harvesting and stimulation. This is especially true in a portable and/or mobile application - like this invention, that would not use any external power supply.

[0054] More recent research points to the communication of the cells using magnetic scalar waves (Konstantin Meyl - "DNA and cell resonance", 2011).

[0055] For the reasons described above, the variable magnetic field coupling between the device disclosed in this invention, and the living systems, makes one of the most effective and desired way of interaction with such living organisms, for stimulation and/or inhibition methods described by this invention, when the device harvests the energy from the body it interacts with, transforms and generates back this energy in a modified form, and does not use any external source of energy.

[0056] In this context, the device disclosed in this invention behaves as an electromagnetic receiving and emitting antenna, and as an amplifier/inhibitor of the phenomena of fields specific to the active electrodermal and functional structures that are the acupuncture points, therefore permitting the results of toning effects (stimulation) or dispersion (sedation), specific to the conventional acupuncture therapy (or acupuncture stimuli with laser, electrical, pulse electromagnetic, ultrasonic, microwaves, thermal, etc.).

[0057] The effects obtained by the placement of set of these devices in specific chosen combinations, were at least comparable - and in many cases net superior as therapeutic effect compared with the existing systems and stimulation devices, - as they are demonstrated in preliminary clinical studies, controlled with thermographic measurements in infrared, magneto-measurements, electro-dermal impedance and potential measurements, measurements of the bio-energy in the JING distal points, and quantum magnetic bio-resonance measurements, performed by the authors. The obtained effects are repeatable and free of any side effect. Here is below a description some non-limiting examples of implementation, related to the following figures.

DETAI LED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERED FORMS OF IMPLEM ENTATION

[0070] The set of Figures IB and 1C present the principle of implementation of the device according to the invention. The device includes passive electronic components: capacitors, coils and bobbins, resistors. According to Fig.l.B, a bobbin (a) composed of more coils preferred in a plan, wire-wound helicoidally around a circular central zone, is connected with one of the ends to the upper armature (b) of a flat capacitor, and with the other end to the other lower armature (b') of the flat capacitor, found in the center of the bobbin and having preferably a circular shape. The two armatures (b) and (b') make a capacitor with a capacity that is adjusted by the components (c) mounted in parallel; between the bobbin (a) and the plates (b) and (b') of the flat capacitor, there is an impedance (d) interposed, for adjusting the resonance of the oscillant circuit, to the value corresponding to the interaction with the acupuncture points.

[0071] Fig.l.C presents the electrical schematic of the oscillant circuit equivalent to the above description, where (1) is the flat capacitor Ci made of the plan plates (b) and (b'), with (2) supplemental capacitors C* added for the calibration of the circuit to the desired frequencies, where (3) is the flat bobbin L, made with helicoidal coils mentioned above (a), where (4) is the impedance added for the adjustment of the frequencies to the desired value and the proper intensity, and where (5) is the equivalent resistance. In the case where the coil L is on both sides of the flat insulated support, then L is made of the LI corresponding to the coil (a) on the upper face of the device, and L2 corresponding to the coil (a') on the bottom face of the device.

[0072] The components and their values are selected depending the biological and medical objectives that are to be attained, that refer to the resonant frequencies, and also to the coupling intensity. One solution for the implementation of the bobbin, tested with good results, consists in building a printed circuit board, that can be rigid or flexible, in which a circuit path, having a concentric helicoidal path, makes the circular or polygonal coils of the bobbin.

[0073] The important element of this configuration consists in the flat capacitor placed centrally, that makes the Faraday cage in the operation of the device, concentrating the electrical charges in a limited volume, by the upper and lower plan plates in the shape of a regular polygon or circular disc and the small thickness of the insulation support.

[0074] The simulation of the magnetic and electric fields, attached to the implementation examples corresponding Fig 2(A,B,C) to 6(A,B,C,D,E), highlights the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis on the circular support and the orientation along this axis, as well as the concentration of the electric field within the central plates, that make the Faraday cage, ensuring a connection mostly magnetic with the interacting organism, and complying with the communication principle between living tissue, with magnetic fields.

[0075] The invention utilizes an electromagnetic coupling between the disclosed device or an assembly of such devices gathered in a system or apparatus, and any organism structure capable to interact with this, by the mentioned coupling.

[0076] The device viewed as an electromagnetic circuit, has an operating mode through which it absorbs energy from the organism when it is in resonance, and then it behaves as a source of the above-mentioned energy, amplified by the fact that this transfer happens on certain special frequencies of the circuit, known as resonance frequencies. The resonance phenomenon is well known and used both in mechanics and in electronics.

[0077] The electromagnetic coupling is obtained by induction, through an element of bobbin type, or with a device of dipole type. The apparatus of this invention applying the method disclosed, can be implemented by one or more electronic circuits with resonant behavior, together with an element of electromagnetic coupling with the concerned structures of the organism.

[0078] The induced resonance of the circuit by the organism, generate a change in the electromagnetic behavior of the body, causing the stimulation of the mentioned organism and the modification of its state, according to the method of this invention.

[0079] The set of Figures 2A, 2B, 2C, 2E and 2F present a one-layer device with one layer of coils on the upper face and the armature (b') of the flat capacitor on the lower face. This makes one of the simplest versions of implementation of the device per the disclosure of the invention.

[0080] Fig.2.A presents a spatial representation of the device looking at the upper face. One end of the bobbin made of the helicoidal coils (a) is connected to the upper face of the central disk (b) that makes the upper armature of the capacitor Ci, and the other end of the bobbin is connected to the disk that covers the entire lower face, that makes the other flat armature (b') of the capacitor Ci, as presented also in Fig.2.B. Between the plates (b) and (b') of the capacitor, there is mounted a capacitor C* that tunes the resonant frequency to the value of 5 MHz.

[0081] The corresponding electric schema of the oscillant circuit (Fig.2.C) includes an inductor L (3) with the inductance of 0.52 micro Henry, a correction capacitor C (2) of 2 nF to correct the capacitance C*, and the capacitor (1) with flat plates (b) and (b') having 2.1 pF. The schema is implemented on a phenolic sheet disc, with the preferable thickness of 1.2 mm and diameter of 15 mm, plated with a thin copper foil.

[0082] The distribution of the electric field E is presented in Fig. 2.D. This was simulated with the AnSys software. It was found that the concentration of the electric field between the 2 plan armatures having the disc shapes making the capacitor placed centrally and symmetrical by the vertical axis that connects the centers of the two disks, is making a Faraday cage.

[0083] The distribution of the magnetic field H is presented in Fig.2.E comes from the simulation of the previous case, using the AnSyS software. The simulation highlights the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis and its orientation along it, ensuring a connection mostly magnetic with the organism that interacts with - thus conforming with the communication principle between living tissue with magnetic fields. The chart of Fig.2.F highlights the resonant frequency and the toning effect that can be obtained at this frequency, from the amplitude and the shape of the chart.

[0084] The set of Figures 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F and 3G present the double-layer device, with a layer of coils on the upper and lower face and plane capacitor armatures, placed centrally. This is the first development of the initial version of implementation of the device according to the invention, Fig.3.A presenting a 3D modeling result of the double-layer device, with an upper face view.

[0085] Fig.3.B presents the spatial representation of the double-layer device, with the plane capacitor armatures placed centrally, with a view of the upper face. One end of the bobbin LI placed on the upper face, made of helicoidal coils (a) is connected to the upper face of the central disk (b) that make the upper armature of the capacitor Ci, and the other end of the bobbin L2 is connected to the terminal end of the bobbin made of the helicoidal coils (a'), placed on the lower face, connected between the two parallel planes that contain the device; the interior end of the bobbin placed on the lower face, is connected to the lower armature of the capacitor Ci. For a diameter of 15 mm of the phenolic sheet support with a preferable thickness of 1.2 mm and a number of 5 coils for each bobbin, we have a capacity of 1.7 pF for the plane capacitor, that makes the resonant frequency of the device at 30 MHz.

[0086] In the alternative of a setup in parallel with the capacitor Ci of another capacitor C with the value of InF, the resonant frequency is 5 MHz. Fig.3.C presents the electrical schematic of the oscillant circuit corresponding the double-layer device, for which the individual impedance LI (a) and L2 (a') have the value of 0.5 microHenry.

[0087] The distribution of the electric field E corresponding to the upper face of the double-layer device - simulation presented in Fig.3.D and the distribution of the electric field E corresponding the lower face of the double-layer device - simulation presented in Fig.3.E; the simulations were done using the AnSys software. The electric field is concentrated between the 2 plane armatures in the shape of disks that make the capacitor placed centrally and symmetrical to the vertical axis that connects the centers of the two disks, that also creates the effect of Faraday cage.

[0088] Fig.3.F describes the distribution of the magnetic field H corresponding to the double-layer device, that is obtained from the same simulation using the AnSys software. The representation emphasizes the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis on the circular support and its orientation along it, ensuring mostly a magnetic coupling with the interacting organism - and thus complying the principle of the communication with living tissue, with magnetic fields.

The chart of Fig.3.G emphasizes the resonant frequency and the tonus effect that can be obtained at this frequency, highlighting the amplitude and the shape of the chart.

[0089] The set of Figures 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E, 4F and 4G present the multi-layer device - with multiple layers similar with the upper face of the one-layer device. The multi-layer device is made of a layer of coils (a) on the upper face and the central armature (b) of the plane capacitor, in the preferred shape of metallic disk, and identical or non-identical layers, on the lower face, placed as in the 3D modeling of the device, example presented in Fig.4. A.

[0090] Fig.4. B presents the generated view of the multi-layer device, with the armatures of the plane capacitor placed centrally, with a view facing the upper face. One end of the bobbin placed on the upper face, made of the helicoidal coils (a) is connected to the upper face of the central disk (b), that constitutes the upper armature of the capacitor Ci, and the other end of the coil is connected to the end of the bobbin made of the helicoidal coils (a'), placed on the lower face of the device, connected between the two parallel planes that contain the device; the interior end of the bobbin placed on the lower face, is connected to the lower armature b' of the capacitor Ci.

[0091] For a diameter of 15 mm of the phenolic sheet, with a thickness of 1.2 mm, and for a number of 5 coils of each bobbin, we have a capacity of 1.7 pF for the plane capacitor, that brings the resonant frequency of the device at 30 MHz. In the alternative of mounting of another capacitor C* in parallel with the capacitor Ci, with the value of InF, the resulting frequency is 5 MHz. [0092] The electric schematic of the multi-layered device, is composed of the electric schematic of the oscillant circuit corresponding the double-layered device, in which the individual impedances LI (a) and L2 (a') have the value of 0.5 microHenry, multiplied with the number of the fundamental devices - that is the layers used.

[0093] The distribution of the electric field E on the multi-layered device - simulation presented in FigAC and FigAD; the simulation was done using the AnSys software. It is found that the concentration of the electric field between the plane armatures in the shape of disks that make the capacitor placed centrally and symmetric to the vertical axis the connects the center of the over-lapped disks, generates also a Faraday cage effect.

[0094] Fig.4.E and FigAF presents the distribution of the magnetic field H corresponding the multi-layered device, that results from the simulation of the previous case, using the AnSys software. The representation highlights the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis of the circular board, and its orientation along it, ensuring a connection prevalent magnetic with the interacting organism - respecting thus the principle of communication between living tissues with magnetic fields.

[0095] The chart of FigAG highlights the resonant frequency and the tonus effect that can be obtain at these frequencies, considering the amplitude and the shape of the chart, characterized eventually by multi-resonance.

[0096] The set of Figures 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E, 5F and 5G present the device with pure iron (Fe) shield. This device is designed starting from a one-layer device, double-layer or multilayer format. On the lower face, opposed with the face applied in contact with the acupuncture points or the electrodermal zone, it has applied a thin layer of metallic foil of pure iron (Fe), or of another metal with ferromagnetic properties. The result of the 3D modeling of the double-layer device with applied Fe shield, looking at the upper face, is presented in Fig.5. A.

[0097] Fig.5.B is a generated view of the double-layer device, with the armatures of the plane capacitor placed centrally, looking at the upper face, and with a Fe shield applied on the lower face (Fe). The end of the bobbin placed on the upper face, made of the helicoidal coils (a), is connected on the upper face, to the central disk (b), that makes the upper armature of the capacitor Ci. The other end of the bobbin is connected at the peripheral end of the bobbin made of the helicoidal coils (a') placed on the lower face, connected between the two parallel planes that contain the device. The inner end of the bobbin, placed on the lower face, is connected to the inner armature of the capacitor Ci. For a diameter of 15 mm of the printed circuit board disk, with a thickness of 1.2 mm and for a number of 5 coils for each side bobbin, the capacitance of the plane capacitor is 1.7 pF, and that brings the resonance frequency of the device at 5 MHz; this is a circuit setup in parallel with the capacitor Ci, of another capacitor CI with the value of InF, as presented in Fig. 3.C. This figure presents the electric schematic of the oscillant circuit corresponding the double-layer device, in which the individual impedances LI and L2 have the value of 0.5 microHenry.

[0098] The simulated distribution of the electric field E corresponding to the upper face of the double-layer device with a bottom iron (Fe) shield - is presented in Fig.5.C and the simulated distribution of the electric field E of the double-layer device, with a bottom iron (Fe) shield - side view - is presented in Fig.5.D; the simulations we done using the AnSys software.

[0099] It is found the electric field within the 2 plane armatures in the shape of disks, that make the central capacitor placed centrally and symmetrical of the vertical axis that connects the centers of the two disks, is concentrated locally. The two plane armatures create also the Faraday cage effect.

[0100] Fig.5.E and Fig.5.F present the distribution of the magnetic field H corresponding the double-layer device, with an iron (Fe) shield applied on the lower face. These figures are the result of the simulations using the AnSys software.

[0101] The representation highlights the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis on the circular support and its orientation along it, ensuring thus a coupling mostly magnetic, with the interacting organism - representing thus the principle of communication between the living tissues, with magnetic fields. [0102] The chart of Fig.5.G highlights the resonant frequency and the tonus effect that can be obtained at these frequencies, considering the amplitude and the shape of the chart, characterized by multi-resonance.

[0103] The set of Figures 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D and 6E present a device with a Ferrite magnetic core (FeMC). This design is based on the one-layer, double-layer or multi-layer device. On this design, a ferrite cylinder or other ferromagnetic material was mounted on the vertical central axis - that is the symmetry axis, and on the entire thickness from the lower to the upper face, or on the part of this thickness, but starting with the upper face. This ferrite cylinder has a maximum diameter of 75...70% from the diameter of the metallic disk that makes the upper armature, and a height that can extend the upper plane of the device. The device can have on the lower face - the opposite side of the one applied on the acupuncture point or the electrodermal zone, a metallic magnetic or electric shield, made of a thin layer of metallic foil.

[0104] The simulated distribution of the electric field E, corresponding the double-layer device with a ferrite magnetic core, is presented in Fig.6.A and Fig. 6.B. The simulations were done using the AnSys software. It is found the electric field between the 2 plane armatures in the shape of disks, that make the capacitor placed centrally and symmetrical of the vertical axis that connects the centers of the two disks, is highly concentrated. The two plane armatures create also the Faraday cage effect.

[0105] Fig.6.C and Fig.6.D present the distribution of the magnetic field H corresponding to the double-layer device with a ferrite magnetic core. This is simulation using the AnSys software. The representation highlights the symmetry of the magnetic field around the perpendicular axis, on the circular support, and its orientation along it, ensuring thus a mostly magnetic coupling with the interacting organism- and respecting thus the communication principle between the living tissues by magnetic fields.

[0106] The chart of Fig.6.E highlights the resonant frequencies and the tonus effect that can be obtained at these frequencies, considering the amplitude and the shape of the chart, characterized by multi-resonance. [0107] The apparatus for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation of the acupuncture points and of other active electrodermal zones, is made of all the individual resonant devices for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation presented above, or from a combination of 1 to 10 pairs of such devices, that interact with an organism on the placement of these devices per the method of this patent, and located based on the established knowledge of the acupuncture and energy medicine.

[0108] The interaction with the organism happens within a narrow band of the emission spectrum of the body, between 0.3 to 300 MHz. The human body emits radiation with relative high intensity in some bands, like the infrared band. However, in other bands - like the visible spectrum, the emission is of extreme low intensity- about a few hundreds of photons per second per square centimeter of body. The power spectrum of the human emission is presented in Fig.l.A (Bembenek, 1998).

[0109] The effect of the continuous electromagnetic stimulation, and with different frequencies, using the devices described in this invention, are followed by the local effects or at the distance, that generate specific therapeutic effects for the stimulated point or the constellation of stimulated points. The stimulation is done either with individual devices presented in this invention, or with an apparatus made of 1 to 10 pairs or sets of such devices, each pair or set being made of 2 resonant devices, for the high frequency electromagnetic stimulation of the acupuncture points or of other active electrodermal zones, characterized by identical frequencies within the pairs or sets, and by the placement of each device on acupoints and symmetric zones by the symmetry axis of the interacting organism (usually the same acupoints on the same acupuncture meridians, knowing that the acupuncture meridians are usually in pairs placed symmetrical to the axis of symmetry of an organism- see Fig.7.A, Fig.7.B and Fig.7.C)

[0110] The invention uses the electromagnetic coupling of the device or the apparatus, with any structure of a living organism, capable to interact with it. Unlike other works presented in the analysis of the state of the art, the used coupling in this invention is mostly magnetic, as it was previously described in examples of implementation of devices for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation of the acupuncture points and other active electrodermal zones. Such a circuit has an operating mode which, when in resonance, it absorbs the energy from the organism, and then it behaves as a source of the mentioned energy, amplified by the fact that this transfer happens at certain special frequencies of the circuit, known as resonant frequencies.

[0111] The transfer of energy from the resonant device, by the resonant response of the circuit, initially originated and induced by the organism, generates a change in the electromagnetic behavior of the organism, causing the stimulation of the mentioned organism.

[0112] The apparatus of this invention that implements the method described above, can be made by one or more passive resonant devices, for high frequency electromagnetic stimulation, together with a coupling electromagnetic element with the concerned structures of the body.

[0113] An non-exclusive example of implementation of the apparatus according to the invention, is presented in Fig.9.A, Fig.9.B and Fig.9.C, in which two devices according to the invention and built identical according to the previous description, in regard of any of Fig.2. A to 2.F, Fig.3.A to 3.G, FigAA to 4.G, Fig.5.A to 5.G, or Fig.6.A to 6.E, having the resonant frequency unlimited, for example of 5 MHz, are placed such a way that the printed circuit board is parallel with the surface of the skin in the chosen acupuncture points above the eyebrows, based on the traditional Chinese, the acupoints corresponding to the proper meridian, with the purpose of decreasing the headache, conforming with the described method below, and in regard with the Fig.9.A to 9.C. The devices are placed in such a way, to have their centers to overlap the acupuncture points chosen for treating this condition. The apparatus could be associated with higher level functions, like self-testing functions and the varying characteristics that can be modulated in time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE METHOD

[0114] The method according to the invention, can be applied by the previously described device and apparatus, and made of the fully passive devices described above; the fact that they don't have any external source of energy, ensures the avoidance of any risk of bypassing the accepted level of energy by the organism. The advantage of such method is permitting a stimulation that is performed continuously, but at the same time, inoffensive. It can be applied to any acupoint of the body, the dimensions are very small, and they can be worn continuously and could be attached to common used objects, like bandanas, glasses, laces, earrings, elbow-tights, gloves, braces, insoles, etc. The desired resonant frequency, associated with the treated pathology, can be easily obtained in a device according to the invention, as one could use all the harmonics of the mentioned frequencies.

Given the efficient and long-lasting effect, this method has demonstrated its efficiency, first as a palliative, and on the long term, it proved to be a curative for different pathological disorders.

[0115] As an example, we mention below the spectacular results, controlled and measured, obtained from the people that were treated according to the method of the invention.

[0116] The method of stimulation according to the invention consists of the application on two electrodermal points, or in more pair of electro-dermal points placed according to the symmetry of the organism upon which the action is intended, of maximum 20 devices for one session of stimulation, applied on the skin by a hypo-allergenic and chemically inert band-aid. The maximum number of stimulation sessions for a cycle of treatment is 15, with a break between the cycles, of minimum 10 days. An efficient coupling is done by the placement of the device in such way that the plane that contain the coils of the bobbin to be tangent at the surface of the skin in the point to be stimulated. The choice of the points and the plan of application is in conformity with the acupuncture principles, or the alternative medicine techniques, and it could be achieved both, by the authorized practitioner, or by the patient herself, based on a comprehensive guide. The method is very accessible, non- polluting and efficient.

[0117] Following, some examples studies are presented, on the application of the method according to the patent. [0118] Example 1. Method of application on the plantar zone.

It is known the plantar layout of the electrodermal zones (Fig.8.A). The stimulation of the active electrodermal zones is achieved by an electromagnetic field with a very high frequency, generated by the electromagnetic device described in this invention, and placed on the cutaneous interface. The active plantar electrodermal zone, radiates in the electromagnetic spectrum of an extended band that includes also the infrared band to ultraviolet, and therefore it triggers the electromagnetic (EM) field emission of the chip. The continuous effects of the electromagnetic stimulation, are followed by local effects like: increase or diminution of the micro-circulation, stimulation of the local metabolism, the increase or decrease of the local temperature, generation of local electric currents - selfpropagated at the distance on minimum resistance paths, increase of the local oxygenation of the tissue; or effects at the distance like: stimulation of the acupuncture meridian system, and of the organs, or the correlated organ functions, the stimulation or inhibition of the neuro-endocrine system, the stimulation of the mechanisms of repair and tissue regeneration. These effects generate specific therapeutic effects for the acupoint, the active skin zone, the meridian, or the collection of the stimulated acupoints.

[0119] For an easy utilization, the devices for activation of plantar points with high frequency inductive chips, could be mounted on insoles. The mounting of the high frequency electromagnetic biochips, on the insoles, was chosen for the in the zones of functional stimulation. In the first case, the authors of this invention tested the placement of the devices in the plantar-projected renal zone (Fig.8.B), that is an elected zone for correcting the postural conditions, for the chronic lombalgia, for acute and chronic lombosciatica, for walking conditions, for the lack of energy and exhaustion syndrome and chronic fatigue, for Jack-of-energy" and Jack of vital force".

The results of the test cases, performed by the authors of this invention, were as follows:

[0120] In the case study no 1, on a lot of 27 subjects with chronic back pain, the electromagnetic devices were applied, for walking and for rest, for 10 days. This generated the diminution of the pain, measured on the visual-analog scale (VAS) with about 46.52%. mostly on the male gender, over-weighted, and with physical occupations, or the ones frequently lifting weights.

[0121] In the case study no 2, on a lot of 52 subjects with lombosciatica, mono-radicular and lumbar discopathy, the application of the EM devices on insoles, produced a significant reduction of the pain (45-80%) in the 60% on the cases, and remission of the ache symptoms and the lumbar contraction in 30.4% of cases.

[0122] In another case study, the EM device was placed in the acupuncture point VU60 (Bladder 60) (Fig.8.C). This determined the increase of the local electric potentials with about 15-80%, and the local temperature with fractions of degree, up to 1...2 Celsius degrees, and the electromagnetic field (measured in miliGauss) by 2-140%.

[0123] In the case study no 3, on a lot of 15 subjects of female gender, the usage of the bio-energetic insoles reduced the chronic fatigue, insomnia, headache, cervical ache, in more than 60% or the cases.

[0124] The test case no 4 consisted in the application of a postural insole on a patient with circulation conditions of the inferior limbs. It was found changes in circulation, highlighted in the IR photography, by difference with the right and unstimulated foot (Fig.8.D).

[0125] Example 2. The method of application on the face.

The placement on the face of the high frequency inductive electromagnetic chips, was made on the functional stimulation zones. The temperature was evaluated in three different moments: on the initial moment (Fig.9.A), 3 minutes after (Fig 9.B), and after 6 minutes (Fig.9.C). The infrared (IR) photographs highlight the local change of the temperatures in the electrodermal points, as it follows:

1) from 32.3 to 32.1 then to 32.4 degrees Celsius.

2) from 34.1 to 34.0 and then to 34.5 degrees Celsius.

3) from 32.1 to 31.6 and then to 31.5 degrees Celsius.

The progress of the temperatures highlights the time allocated to the test case study is not sufficient for treatment, and it is necessary the continuation of it according to the remarks made previously upon the method. [0126] Example 3. Method applied on the sinus zone.

The temperature of chosen acupuncture points for treating the sinusitis, were measured initially, individually for each point, before the test, as in Fig.10. A. The overall infrared image of the face and the temperature distribution, were measured before the test, as in Fig.10. B. The placement on the face of the high frequency inductive electromagnetic chips, was made on the functional stimulation zones, that is the chosen acupuncture points for treating sinusitis, according to the traditional Chinese medicine, as presented in Fig.10. C.

[0127] The temperature was again evaluated after 3 minutes after placing the device, as seen in Fig.10. D. The infrared photography highlight the local change of the skin temperature, on the electrodermal points as such: 1) from 33.2 to 32.6; 2) from 34.5 to 34.0; and 3) from 33.5 to 33.5 - all Celsius degrees.

The progress of the temperatures highlights the time allocated to the test case study is not sufficient for treatment, and it is necessary the continuation of it according to the remarks made previously upon the method.

[0128] Example 4. The method applied on the hands.

Placing the high frequency inductive electromagnetic chips on the hands, was made on the functional stimulation zones. The IR photography highlights the local change of the temperature on the electrodermal acupoints, by its increase, as it follows:

1) from 31.8 to 32.1 degrees Celsius.

2) from 31.7 to 32.9 degrees Celsius.

3) from 31.8 to 31.9 degrees Celsius.

4) from 31.7 to 32.8 degrees Celsius.

Fig.ll.A corresponds to the initial moment, and Fig.11. B corresponds to the recorded state after 2 minutes of exposure.
