Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a respirator with a respiration-linked electric fan such that no large current flows to the electric fan at the time of start of energization thereof to maintain the internal pressure of a facepiece to a target positive pressure value, and such that there are no incidents where the internal pressure of the facepiece falls greatly below the predetermined target positive pressure immediately after the start of energization to maintain the internal pressure of the facepiece to the target positive pressure value. [Solution] The present invention is provided with: a facepiece for partially or completely covering the face; an inhalation valve and an exhalation valve attached to the facepiece; an electric fan for supplying external air into the facepiece through the inhalation valve; a filter for filtrating the external air drawn in by the electric fan; a respiration monitor device having a membrane member that deforms with changes in the internal pressure of the facepiece and a sensor for sensing deformation of the membrane member; and a control device for controlling the operation of the electric fan in accordance with respiration on the basis of a sensing signal from the respiration monitor device. The control device causes energization of the electric fan upon inhalation to drive rotation of the electric fan, thereby maintaining the internal pressure of the facepiece to a predetermined target positive pressure value, stops the energization of the electric fan upon exhalation to stop the electric fan, and allows a minute current to flow to the electric fan to rotate the electric fan at a minute rotation rate in the period from mid exhalation to inhalation.
